EnVyUs are through to the televised ELEAGUE Group F final after taking down compLexity 2-0 (16-9 on Dust2 and 16-8 on Cache).
The first semifinal of ELEAGUE's Group F was between the first and fourth seeds of the group, Envy and Complexity respectively. With Dust2 kicking off the series as EnVyUs' map pick, it was the team's brazen fragger Dan "apEX" Madesclaire who picked up three quick USP kills to give the French team the first pistolround.
compLexity bided their time until the first gunround and it was the team's longtime veteran Joshua "sancz" Ballenger who brought the Anglo-North American team a round win with two crucial kills, the latter being a one-versus-one victory against apEX.
coL moved ahead to a 5-3 lead before the ninth round saw a double AWP opener from Kenny "kennyS" Schrub secure nV a fourth round on the board. With a continuing strong economy however, compLexity were able to win the tenth round and climb to a 6-4 score.
Happy's dangerous mix of lurking and clutching helped secure Dust2 for nV
The eleventh round saw a triple kill M4A1 hold from apEX shut down the compLexity offensive but Shawn "witmer" Taylor & co. were soon back in the lead, helped by the likes of sancz pulling off three entry kills in a row on the 13th round. The half finished with a 9-6 lead for compLexity.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer was the sole reason for EnVyUs winning the second pistolround as the 24-year-old won a one-versus-three while retaking the A site which included two precise and deadly USP shots from short over the A box to finish off two coL players.
From here on out, EnVyUs surged ahead on their T-side and simply overpowered compLexity, with a notable triple kill from Happy on the 20th round and it was the team's new addition of 2016, Timothée "DEVIL" Démolon, who closed out the map 16-9 with a double kill.
sancz's coL ultimately leave ELEAGUE in 19-24th place
compLexity's map pick of Cache was up next and apEX picked up two quick USP kills and DEVIL snatched three P2K kills to cleanly defend the A site from a compLexity take. The French team quickly advanced to a 6-0 lead off the back of a confident defense.
Smart attacking gave Rory "dephh" Jackson and his team the seventh round but the next round saw kennyS win a one-versus-two (including an afterplant one on one situation) to put nV up to a 7-1 lead. For some reason, compLexity began to quickly pick up T-side rounds after this point and the half only finished 8-7 in favour of nV.
The second pistolround saw Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt picking up a quad kill for his team and EnVyUs once again displayed a completely dominant T-side in the series, only allowing compLexity to pick up a single CT round across both maps (which involved a triple kill from witmer). EnVyUs took Cache 16-8 and marched into the Group F final.
